Wills
If you wish to plan for inheritance and distribute your assets after death according to your decision, you should make a will instead of relying on inheritance law. Since a will must comply with the strict provisions of the Wills Ordinance, it is recommended to hire a Hong Kong lawyer to handle matters other than making a will.
A will that is legally valid in Hong Kong must follow the following procedures:
- 18Years or above
- Voluntary and clear-headed
Written - Signed by two witnesses aged 18 or above
- 2 Signatures of witnesses
Note: The beneficiary should not be a witness, otherwise the will may be ruled invalid. Please contact a Hong Kong lawyer for consultation.
